What is the local currency and can I use my credit card?

The local currency in Malaysia is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), usually written as RM. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in hotels, larger restaurants, and shopping centres. There are no compulsory vaccinations required to enter Malaysia for most travellers. However, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from, or have recently travelled through, a country where Yellow Fever is present.
